Course description
The Field Practicum in the Mathematical Economics curriculum is a course designed to enable students to engage with real-world work and the applications of the mathematical economics specialization across various fields of social life, from the macro to the micro level, and to enhance their ability to solve real-world situations using the knowledge, skills, and reasoning of mathematical economics. Through this course, students are guided in exploring the practical activities of mathematical economics learners at host organizations. Specifically, at enterprises, students will grasp the methods for carrying out professional activities related to data collection, data processing, building forecasting models, and exploring and operating AI applications in day-to-day operations. Students have the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts in the field to gain a clear understanding of how the knowledge acquired at the University is applied in practice.
Upon completion of the course, students must write a report (as a group) describing the current state of the application of quantitative analysis methods and tools in the operations of the host organization, identifying the issues they have learned about, what is still lacking or incomplete, and providing recommendations and proposals for improvements or additions to enhance the operational efficiency of the host organization.
