Course description

Following the course Theory of Mathematical Economic Models 1, after studying the fundamental content on model building, comparative statics analysis, and the class of optimization models, Part 2 examines in depth the following topics:

Issues related to the verification and estimation of consumer/producer behavior models addressed in the course Theory of Mathematical Economic Models 1

The group of (static) equilibrium models in economics.

Within the class of equilibrium models, the problems of general equilibrium, Walrasian equilibrium, and Pareto equilibrium are presented and analyzed in detail.

Main content

- Estimation of production and consumption behavior models

- Market equilibrium models under perfect competition and supply monopoly

- General market equilibrium - Walrasian equilibrium

- Equilibrium in the goods and services market IS

- Equilibrium in the money market LM

- The IS-LM model and policy analysis

- Macroeconomic equilibrium model of an open economy
