Course description

Fundamentals of Environmental Science is a subject that studies the interactive relationship between humans and humans, between humans and the living world, and the surrounding physical environment, with the purpose of protecting the living environment.

In addition to providing a theoretical basis, the subject also provides practical knowledge of the environment as a foundation for students of the natural resources and environment management major to study specialized subjects later. The subject presents the main issues of the natural environment, such as the basic components of the environment, the ecological principles applied in the environment, and the explanation of environmental issues from a scientific perspective.

Main content:

The basic concepts of the environment and environmental science

The basic components of the environment

Ecosystems and the application of ecological principles to the environment

Natural resources

Population and the environment

Environmental pollution

Environmental management

Course requirements

Regulations on conditions for the end-of-course examination

The attendance score must reach 5 or above (in accordance with the general regulations of the University)

Method of assessing the attendance score: see Appendix 2, rubrics 1.

Regulations on class attendance

Students are responsible for fully attending all class sessions.

In the case of absence due to force majeure reasons, students must proactively study the knowledge through the materials provided by the lecturer and other materials required to be read.

Regulations on classroom behavior

The course is conducted on the principle of respect for the learner and the instructor;

Take complete notes, participate in answering questions;

Read the required materials in advance;

Do the home discussion exercises;

Do not make noise, cause disturbance to others, do not eat during the learning process;

Laptops, tablets, and mobile phones may only be used for the purpose of taking lecture notes and performing calculations in service of study; they must absolutely not be used for other purposes.

Regulations on submitting major discussion assignments

A learner who does not submit the required individual / group assignment will receive a score of 0 (zero).

After the prescribed deadline, each day of late submission will be deducted one point.

Learning outcomes and assessment

The training management system automatically assesses the level of CLO achievement according to the University's general algorithm. The course learning outcomes are assessed by students and the University after the end-of-course examination.
