Course description
The Graduation Thesis is a compulsory course that is not taught in the classroom. Students who have accumulated a sufficient number of credits and have not committed any disciplinary violations as prescribed may enroll in the Graduation Thesis course in International Economics.
The Graduation Thesis course requires students to undertake an internship at a specific agency/organization/enterprise for a period of at least 12 weeks.
When taking this course, students must carry out the following tasks: Select an internship organization; participate in the practical activities of the field/specialization at the internship organization in order to practice professional skills, cultivate a professional working attitude, and develop relationships in preparation for their future career; and apply the theoretical knowledge and thinking skills accumulated and developed during their studies to observe, describe, and analyze the activities/areas related to the operations of the internship organization. At the end of the course, each student must present the results of their work in the form of a Graduation Thesis.
The Graduation Thesis is an independent research work of the student, which helps to assess the knowledge and competencies that the student has accumulated throughout their studies and their ability to apply these to practice.
The topic selected for the Graduation Thesis may relate to:
- State management policies regarding economic activities involving foreign elements, such as: export promotion policies, import management policies, foreign investment attraction policies, etc.
- Export, import, and foreign direct investment attraction activities, as well as the attraction and use of official development assistance (ODA) capital, etc.
- International service provision activities such as logistics, tourism, education and training, etc.
Based on the research topics, the research content may focus in depth on mechanisms, policies, and markets; or on the professional and operational content of the organization/enterprise. The scope of research may be associated with a national/local policy; a sector/field; a group of goods/a single commodity; or an organization/enterprise, etc.
Throughout the internship process, students work under the guidance of the supervising lecturer and under the direction and guidance of the supervising staff at the organization/enterprise.
